I happen to know that Zip Code 55101 (in Saint Paul, MN) has been split into two Zip Codes, 55101 and 55130, within the last couple of years. However as of this posting Melissa Data seems to be unaware of that.
This is actually part of a more general problem: no one source I can find seems to be completely up to date. A product of a local map company correctly shows 55130 but also shows part of Grant, MN as (on the left side of the page) in 55115 and (on the right side of the page) as in 55082 - with no boundary between them. This is actually the ambiguity that led me to this site.
I've tried the USPS on-line Zip Code lookup. It confirms 55115 for some streets, 55082 for others, but lists 55110 for still others and claims it doesn't recognize quite a few streets in the area (including some I've driven on myself and know to both (a) exist and (b) be fairly substantial roads). If it did know all the streets I could pinpoint the boundaries, but as it is...nope.
I have a booklet of Minnesota street names and associated Zip Codes I bought from the local post office ten or twelve years ago, but it's out of date and they don't sell such a thing any more.
Okay - so nobody who doesn't actually deliver mail in the area knows where the boundaries really are. Why is that? And why in this day and age is it so hard to aggregate that information at a higher level?

Do you have a couple of examples you can give with these zipcodes? Our online data is updated once a month and the data source is the USPS national data file. The other sources you checked probably use the same data file or don't update thier database as often. I can check out your examples and post what results I find. If not the only other option is to submit these streets to you local post office. They will then pass on this info to the USPS headquarters to Memphis TN and it will be investigated from there. Most likely from what you saying I will probably run into the same results you did and the addresses will have to be submitted to the USPS. Usually if a ZIP CODE split has occured the USPS is good about updating thier table but if the split was a couple of years ago I'm not sure what the hold up is.
