55110000 New and used car dealers 9,631
55119901 Automobiles, new and used 25,314

Anyone know what the differance is between these two? Thanks!

There are actually 5 different categories for SIC code 5511.

55110000 New and used car dealers: This is the general SIC code for this industry
55119901 Automobiles, new and used: This SIC code narrows it down to the specific type of vehicles it sells. Automobiles or cars being the only or majority of the type of vehicles it sells.
55119902 Pickups, new and used: The SIC code tells you that only pickups are sold rather than cars, trucks etc.
55119903: Trucks, tractors, and trailers new and used: Only these types of vehicles are sold
55119904: Vans, new and used: Only Vans are sold

So the last 4 digits of the SIC code goes into more detail on what that Industry sells or does.

Hope this helps
